Hi Doug - I used the shoulder stock. I don't recall if I had the shoulder end on the ground. I was on my belly presenting a low profile, which made the owl much more at ease. For any LUGgers familiar with the San Francisco area the photo was made in a vacant lot at the corner of Hegenberger Road and Doolittle Drive, both very busy roads near the Oakland airport. And yes the flowers are lupine. To everyone who responded, thanks, I get the message!
