Great shot Doug.  I love the 400mm f6.8.  Your image took patience and
timing. What did you use for support? Tripod, monopod or shoulder stock?  I
love the out of focus lupine in the background - am I correct lupine?  The
lavender offsets the gray brow of the owl creating a great color
juxtaposition.
