Two things - first under the Files tab and Default Folder, put in the path
to the folder you want the images to go to (you can just cut and paste in
Win 98 etc from opening the file). And obviously, you can change this at
will.

Secondly under the Window tab and Default Viewer, if it says Default, it
will pick whichever is your default image viewer - Photoshop, Photo  paint
or whatever (or it should anyway). If you want something else to view it,
fill in the path to that programme. If you don't want it to automatically
open in an image viewer, then just uncheck External Viewer

The preview pane should work, as long as you are doing a preview...?
