From: "Sal DiMarco,Jr." <sdmp007@pressroom.com>

Luggers,
This morning I received the following E-Mail from Erwin Puts regarding
my statement about the orginal constuction of the 90mm APO-ASPH lens.
While, we are not that far apart, I prefer to be accurate.
    I stand corrected
Sal DiMarco, Jr.

Dear Sal,
I am sorry to inform you that your info is not correct, however high the
source at leica AG or you have misunderstood him.
The very first hundred of the Apo 90 lenses were made in Canada, but they
indeed got their surfaces wrong, so after that production shifted to Solms,
where it has been since. With the execption of the first hundred lens
elements, all lens elements for the Apo 90 are made in Solms and assembled
there.
It is a pity that you are adding to the confusion and myths around Leica. I
thought we had enough of this already.
Erwin
