XP1 i remember if you over exposed it by a full stop and you tried printing it: you'd turn on the enlarger, go have lunch, come back and develop it. Talk about bullet proof highlights!!! the XP2 smoothed that over. But It's got to be exposed properly You cant just pick any ASA out of a hat. 200 or 800 wont' work. It's got to be 400. That's what i found at least. Just like any silver based film it's got a real speed (with a particular developer dilution combination) I think that in photoshop when you unsharp mask the XP2 films you don't pick up grain like you do silver films. That is it's main advantage.
