Never, ever trust any equipment will be correctly performing right out of the box. It is foolish indeed to use photographic equipment for important work without testing. AA (genuflection) calibrated all of his equipment, and, EVERYTHING had a correction factor. Worse everything had a different correction factor at different settings!
