Take lens off Leica. You will see 2 circular cams, one of which has a
flathead screw in it. This is the adjustment cam for the horizontal
rangefinder image. Go to Home Depot, buy a small flathead screwdriver that
is S shaped and will fit inside the bayonet flange and reach the cam. The
screwdriver will likely be too thick to fit into the screwhead. File or
grind it down. Use screwdriver to turn the adjustment cam 1/16 of a turn to
begin with. Put lens back on and check infinity focus on object 100 or so
feet away. Repeat adjustment as necessary. If your rangefinder is really
off, there will not be enough adjustment room in the cam.
