I shot totally available light, the Summicron was wide open and shutter speed was around 1/30th. (You've got to love the metering on the R8!) The E100SW adds a bit of warmth to the pastel shades. The NICU had a lot of reflected, cove type lighting which gave soft shadows instead of the usual 2x4 overhead panels. I think that, plus the combination of the color in the chair and the container on the wall, all combine to give a rather pleasing result. - -----Original Message----- From: owner-leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us [mailto:owner-leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us]On Behalf Of Julian Koplen Sent: Monday, February 05, 2001 10:41 AM To: leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us Subject: Re: [Leica] Week 5 in Denver Hi Bill, Congratulations on the grand-twins and my compliments on the image quality as well. Would you mind telling how you got the pleasing color rendition and what lighting was used for the picture, which I assume was taken in the NICU? Thanks in advance..............Julian - ----- Original Message ----- From: Bill <bnelsch@qwest.net> To: <leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us> Sent: Sunday, February 04, 2001 9:25 PM Subject: [Leica] Week 5 in Denver Hi all, This was my first sojourn into the world of medicine that Ted has opened up for us and boy, it is a challenge! My grand-twins arrived about 6 weeks early and while they are coming along nicely, their home is still the NICU. I selected my main shot (R-8, 50 f/2 Summicron, E100SW) for the expression on my son's face. Since I am a lousy editor (at least of my own stuff) the alternates are the series of B&W (Plus-X, pushed 1 stop, developed in XTOL 1:1) taken at the same time. As a bonus, the DALUG (Denver area LUG) (got together a couple of weeks ago and we all ended up shooting each other at the coffee shop. I didn't include Robb's 12 course lunch. (That boy can eat!) :) As usual, comments are always welcome! Bill in Denver
