The following quote seems to support my common-sense hunch: "For Kodak HIE load and unload your camera in absolute darkness. Also remove your wristwatch! Buy a black changing bag if you want to load/unload at any place outside your darkroom. A good quality changing bag consisting of two layers/zippers is opaque to infrared. Use the bag on a flat underground and again remove your wristwatch. You can safely develop your films by daylight in a modern Patterson or Jobo tank or in same tanks in your darkroom with the roomlight switched on."
