I picked it up, that's two issues in a row! Glancing on the inside page is the note on how the cover was shot. A Nikon F4 (so what else is new?) a 105 2.8 AF Nikkor lens (that got my attention) Fuji Velvia at 1/500 at 5.6. BUT GET THIS: "He Focused Manually And Determined Exposure Without Metering." "His Sports Photography Advice: Get Close To The Subject, Pre-focus, And Anticipate The Action." A breath of fresh air!
