I recently re-subscribed to this list after a year's hiatus. I fled from endless discussions of Tilley hats and single malt scotches (fun to drink but uninteresting to read about). I had never bothered to investigate what the hell a Tilley hat was until today. Went to there web site and now I have a few questions:

WITH A TILLEY HAT:
1. Does one wear white leather shoes?
2. Are polyesther leisure suits required, and if so:
    a. must the leisure suit be plaid or are solid colors ok?
    b. if solid colors are okay, must they have rust colored accent threading?
3. Should one remove one's Tilley when having the early bird special at the local cafeteria?
4. Are they really only for people hiding embarrassing tattoos or scars (lobotomy or otherwise).
5. Is this what Jerry Seinfeld was talking about when he said some people just "give up caring what they look like"?
6. Does the Tilley company pay you guys to wear those things?
7. Did you, inexplicably, get beat up alot in high school?
8. Prefer the A/V club potluck dinner to the Senior Prom?
9. Live in a home with no mirrors?
10. Ever ask your spouse's opinion before leaving home?

Love the Leicas, hate the Tilley's. Actually may be against the law to import to Texas.

To each there own. Kirk
