And there can be problems with recent (unbranded) makes, I have several, some by Komura, one by Cosina/Voigtlander and one without a brand name. I was unable to screw a lens into this last one, but the same lens would screw into a Leitz adapter. I have not found a problem with centering though, the axis is unlikely to be off by more than 1/2mm, surely not easy to assess visually? Thanks for you responses. > All the screw to M adaptor does is to change the registration of the lens by 1mm. As long as the adaptor is machined properly, there will be no problem. I don't have any Leica adaptors. If you get an aftermarket adapter, try to make sure that the lens ends up centered (you might have to try several adaptors to find one just right).
