I currently have the Epson 1160. I chose the 1160 (which will handle the Super B 13x17 paper) over the others because of the availability of a Continuous Ink Supply (CIS) so you don't have to keep buying cartridges from Epson. I don't need the bigger sized Epson 3000. If you buy a 1270 you will have to buy ink from Epson forever. With CIS, ink costs about 50cents an 8x10 vs. double or triple that for a 1270. A B&W 1270 print is superb but 1270 inks are not archival while Piezo inks are. Piezo is wonderful. IMO a good Piezo print is better that an RC one and can compete with an excellent fiber one. One reason not to buy ConeTech is if you absolutely hate warmtone images. Piezo prints range from really warm to somewhat warm depending on the paper. I have heard that cold-tone Piezo inks are in the works but as far as I know are not yet available. If you use a 1270, then you at least have the option of changing the image tone to suit your tastes or each image. Jonathan Lee
