I was very taken with the multicoloured fake Leica on your site recently. It spurred me into action and now the serial number and 'Ernst Leitz, Wetzlar' (etc.) engraving on my M6 are a delightful shade of burnt orange. Please don't lose any sleep over the value plummeting, it's far from collectible, but so much prettier! ANY camera in your hand and ready to take pics is better than that $25,000 Leica outfit back home in your closet. Try going for fun with a backup camera, use the cheapest disposable camera you can find. you may well be surprised by the challenge. with a disposable camera, it's a lot easier to see the line separating camera and photog. By far my best photography teacher in college was John Silengo. Most of the students spent a small fortune on the latest Nikon and Canon gear, a few had Leicas. One of John's most interesting class assignments was having the class shoot away as a group, while he clicked away with a Kodak Pony (a cheap meterless fixed lens 35mm). His shots were not always the sharpest, but his shot were always the best. Maybe it's not the camera, what a possibility. Stephen Gandy
