Set up your camera on a tripod. Using a table or a light stand or anything else handy set up a ruler or a yard stick (meter stick?) so that is visible running at a slight diagonal through the frame. Arrange it so that the focusing patch is right on the mid part of the ruler. (If you are using a ruler in inches, have the the RF on about 6 inches). What this should look like in the finder is kind of like a road running diagonally across the frame away from you.As if you were standing on the road and the distant road dissappeared into the far top corner of the picture. You want to see down the ruler. Focus on the midpoint of the ruler. Remember what number you focus on. Expose a few frames, refocusing each time. Develop film. Inspect with loupe, or scanner, make a print. If you focused on 6 and your pictures are all in focus on 6 it works! If not you will see which way its off and the amount of discrepency. Henry Ambrose
