I still think the R8 is the most ergonomic camera Leica has ever produced
(with the possible exception of the M4/classic M6).  And I still think that
the one camera Leica should produce that they haven't is an R9 -- a fully
mechanical camera with the innards of the R6.2, light and flash metering of
the R8, in the R8 body shell.  I'd sell a kidney to buy one.  (Not telling
whose though ;)
