Well, just as I can appreciate formalist photography for it's clean
aesthetics, I can appreciate music for the same reasons.  But more than
that, I just seem to *like* a lot of his music.

Or the Brooklyn Funk Essentials, Brand New Heavies, Corduroy, or just about
anything on Rykodisc.
