Leica Screw Mount and LTM (Leica Thread Mount) are terms that I believe most folks use interchangeably. Pre-M3 interchangeable lens Leica cameras (as well as a number of other manufacturers) were LTM compatible. This is cool today because those of us on a budget (or like to 'look' caused by the older less sophisticated glass) who use Leica M mount bodies can often get the older LTM lenses for a fraction of what new high tech glass costs. With an adapter most of these old lenses can fit today's M cameras. Carpe Luminem, Michael E. Berube
