Mark,

when I used to shoot slides I was really satisfied if I got a couple 
of good ones out of the 36, the rest was for the wastebin. Having 
said that, I still found it very difficult to throw away mounted 
slides, even the ones I considered worthless . With unmounted slides 
life was much easier. The less you mounted the less work. That made 
you think twice before mounting. And I had no difficulty in getting 
rid of what had not been mounted. Amazingly I still have thousands of 
slides nicely filed away, but then some are 40 years old. Imagine how 
many I would have had if they had come mounted. No room for my b+w 
darkroom then  ;-)
