It has been stuck on my new 50 Summicron now for about 6-8 months. It is removeable with force and then a bit of solvent to dissolve the last of the adhesive that will remain. The lens remains unaltered and unmarked. Though I'll never take it off. The factory tab has two little pins that I cut off so that it would fit on the lens without altering the lens. If you cannot find a factory made tab you could make one from a number of materials; wood, plastic or metal and then use the tape to affix it. Simply cut the tab material to a similar radius as the lens barrel. Look at your 35 or other lens that has the tab as a reference for making your new one and positioning it on your lens. Clean the area where it will be taped on the lens and the tab. Use care and only a small amount of solvent. (acetone, alcohol - something that will not leave an oily film) Then stick it together holding it tightly for a few minutes. The bond strength increases after a day or two and becomes quite strong. Yes this really does work. The tab stays on. Now your 50 handles like your 35 with a tab!
