As an iconoclast who uses a strange assortment of LTM stuff- Leica mostly, I admit, I am curioius as to whether you can detect any differences in the Hexar lenses? I used to have an old Konica AF that took surprisingly good photos, until the foam in the door deteriorated and it started to leak light (Sometimes, light would just dribble out- all over my shirt!). I think to that a lot of the so called "Leica Look' can only be properly seen in transparencies since no matter how great a lens you use to take the photo, a lot is lost in the way it is printed. I found out a long time ago that if I used a great lens to make an image, and then used a $15 Voss enlarger lens to print it- it looked like it was taken with a $15 lens. I remember too, seeing some shots of the Sistine Chapel taken with a Summilux 75 on transparency film that simply blew me away. Have you tried very many transparencies? I am assuming in the affirmative since you are involved in Corporate and Industrial Photography, but thought I'd ask. Dan ( sincere question, here!)
