Subject: RE: [Leica] Thomas duplex super safelight

Hello,

The instructions that came with duplex makes no mention of having to
replace the filters but say that the only part that will eventually require
replacement in the sodium vapor lamp. I have had mine set up for years and
nothing has ever been replaced. Still no fogging - a great safe light. The
filters over the vapor tube further restrict the already narrow spectrum and
the vanes or flaps control the light intensity.

Cheers,

Ian

I thought the bulb itself was almost not even in need of filtration.
That low pressure sodium itself was darn close to only the wavelengths
needed.
