Martin,
I really appreciate your initiative to evaluate user info on the R8's 
reliability, and look forward to your findings!

Sorry to bother you with this - I don't own an R8, only mechanical 
reflex Leicas - but a point occurs to me. If you are on a college (or 
any kind of corporate) network, you're being backed up every night. 
So how do you ensure the information you gather is not being stored 
somewhere? Not that it matters too much, but someone might object!
Just a thought.
