no man no! get them an agfa e-smile digital camera for $99 and let them
shoot all day and night. the russian copies are as easy to use as a iiib,
which means you'll get roll after roll of out of focus images at 25 cents
a shutter click AND you'll get to cut leaders for your trouble AND load
the camera for them every time.

take my word for it, kids -- digital. push button, picture comes up,
they're happy. they're taking pictures.

if you must get them a film camera i'd go again with the olympus stylus
epic -- nice AF, very compact, built in flash -- and if you HAVE to get
them a rangefinder, check out the canon ql17, they're about $40 used and
have a very nice quickloading feature with a fixed 40mm f 1.7 lens.

my .02 or less,
