Every single message this morning was about photographs and photographing (as opposed to cameras, scanners, bicycles, Ted's underpants...). And Steve is also right that the ethic on Streetphoto is constructive critical engagement with each others pictures so Steve's earlier comments on my pictures weren't at all problematic... in fact I found them helpful. We also tend to post work-in-progress, kind of like sharing piles of workprints, rather than waiting to display a finished portfolio. This kind of feedback can be really useful at the beginning of a project. However, I'd be the first to admit that sometimes the LUG seems like a breath of fresh air by comparison... sometimes in can get a little *intense* in there... Anyone who wants to check out the list can do so by visiting http://www.topica.com/lists/streetphoto You can read the current messages and search the archive without subscribing. See what you think. BTW on Streetphoto the convention is that Leicas are referred to as HEGRs (high-end German rangefinders). Don't ask me why, but that's how it is. - -- Johnny Deadman http://www.pinkheadedbug.com
