Many of these guys/gals feel like they can throw around numbers like twinkies I suppose really feel like they've got a hold on the "ultimate reality" and are very smug. They've got their formulas instead of talking plain English! :) Just how many red Chinese were right that minute invading the shores of California in the 60's? I had heard a very precise number mentioned at the time. Didn't make me belive they were really there. How many pixels does a grain in film deserve to have allotted to it? Some day THAT will be etched into stone like the 11th commandment! The proof will be in the pudding. We'll project the transparencies right next to the originals on matching projectors. And we'll also make matching prints. The ultimate number involved I bet will be a surprise because I suspect there are variables not yet anticipated. Although i guess it ain't quantum physics! It's exciting to be in an age for photography where such new stuff is being foisted upon us. We just have to feel our ways through. And of course it's entirely possible there is no answer. mark rabiner I think Erwin will always be most of our favorite numbers guy and tech whizz Erwin is mine became he's done the most to make highly technical things (optics mainly) comprehensible. The guys who complicate things are the BS artists if you ask me! mark rabiner
