In modern vehicles this feature can be a blessing, however, it can be a nightmare if we're not careful when putting gear in the trunk. And putting gear in the trunk out in the open, particularly in a public parking lot, hospital, shopping centre or otherwise, is an absolute no-no! Prying eyes are always on the look out for just this kind of activity. In case some of you have forgotten, there is a switch in the trunk that disables this drivers side mechanism and at times of having gear in the car it's a very good idea to have it disabled. I realize this doesn't help Terry's dad, however it may save some of you from great loss in the future. It's a very important item when "valet parking" or leaving ones vehicle in an off the beaten path. ted
