I left out one thing: with a 28mm F2 this effect might be greater as the
distance off center could be much more significant than with the 50mm
lens. If the image size compared to the 50 remains the same (i.e. you
move closer with the 28) the depth of field of the two lenses should be
the same, at the same f-stop. This may counter some of the value of that
well-corrected F2 lens. Or am I missing something critical?
