Welcome to the wonderful world of international commerce! There is no duty
on camera bits from the USA but there is tax owing. Your courier company
cheerful pays these taxes for you which they then collect from you. For
performing this small duty they charge a modest brokerage charge. Remember
you are an intelligent creature; live and learn! The best shipping method is
by US Airmail. Canada Post only charges a flat $5CAN brokerage fee which is
very reasonable when compared UPS (and others) $35CAN to $40CAN fee. I have
had $5US books end up costing $60CAN (once and only once)! You have to
remember this when bidding on stupid little stuff on "you know where" as if
they insist on UPS shipping, which some of them do, you will pay a fortune
for that Leica Catalogue #45!!

Cheers

John Collier
