I gave up the R8 and lenses due to weight, but I thought that it handled very well and is a surperb camera body. however, the problem is not in the weight of the body, 31 1/2 oz but in the weight of the lenses!!! both the 35/1.4-R and the 80/1.4-R weigh about 25 ozs each!! My M6 with the 24, 35/1.4 asph and 90/2.0 apo weighs about 57 oz all together, the R8, 24, 35/1.4 and 80/1.4 weighs 96 ozs and those are the smaller lenses - add in the teles and zooms!!
