you've got one hell of a bee (i'll resist the pun) in your bonnet! and
though i fear you may soon destroy the analphabetic keys on your keyboard,
i must concur on your bit of sound advice for all
meter/flash/cappucino-using/drinking leicaphiles:

carry i spare battery!

sure the camera will still function without one (though apparently the
flash won't), but is it that problematic to haul around a spare?
