How about your ceiling?
Ceilings are commonly white. That's how the paint comes. It's cheaper.
And that's where your light fixtures usually are. (And the sun and the moon)
so when you bounce off the ceiling the light is substantiated by that fact.
(light comes from above)
And it's the easiest.
And looks the best.
