I have used the 90mm Summicron R and the Contax 85 f1.4. Both render wonderful portraits! However, At f 1.4, the Contax lens is quite soft. I think both lenses improve greatly from about f2.8 and up. Therefore, the contax is really only helpful if you need to get the shot in low light or want the soft effect. I have not tested the Leica 85mm summilux, but if it is sharper at f1.4 to f2 than it would be more useful.
