I can confirm that the 12592 Hood was intended to be used on the original TE. 
 I was told this by the M Product Mgr. at the lenses intro at the PMA in New 
Orleans.
The redesigned TE has a new lens shade and the lenses filter dia. has been 
reduced to 49mm.
