But I do have the July 97 magazine in front of me. Their conclusion about the 50mm lens: "A beautifully made , smooth operating lens capable of very fine peformance at the most commonly used f-stops but lacking somewhat at the widest two apertures." And the APO Macro? "Very expensive, but worth it. An exquisitely made, truly outstanding lens - the best 100mm macro we've tested to date." As a former Nikon and Canon user, and a current Leica M and R user, I can see a significant difference in slides I have taken over the last 20 years by different cameras and lenses. The Leica slides have better color, are sharper, and have more contrast and saturation. I did not, and still do not, own any lenses in the 300mm+ range, so my experience has been limited to the 1 7-300mm focal length range only. Muhammad Chishty
