it really depends on what you want from a camera and the type of
work or photography you do.
I'm a photojournalist and documentary photographer. This means I often work
in VERY low light and in situations where being unobtrusive and quite is
the difference in getting or not getting the photo.... and sometimes the
difference in being thrown out of high tension situations.
I choose the Leica M's for most of my work because they are quite,
unimposing and have very sharp, fast lenses.
You can also hand hold at some VERY low shutter speeds with a higher
success rate then with SLR's.
....and a hell of a lot easier to carry then an SLR kit.
I usually only haul out my Nikon's when I need to use long, fast lenses or
I need to use matrix metered supplemental flash units in mixed lighting
situations.
That said, if you want R's then go for it !
