Tina, that's what I thought too, but it ain't necessarily true: The
official scoop from Ken Owen at Jobo is that the specified fluid
capacities on the drums are MINIMUMS, and that the maximum is when
developer starts dribbling out the end! The 1500-series of drums don't
hold much to begin with, but the 2500 and 3000-series do and when
processing 4x5 sheet film, it's enough that I can use Xtol at 1:3,
process 5 sheets of film on the 6-sheet reel and still meet Kodak's spec
for developer capacity. Now I know why Jobo sells those oversized 2500
tanks and reels for rollfilm ;-)
