My wife is an obstetrician who encourages photography in the delivery room.
She discourages video only for aesthetic reasons. All of her colleagues
with whom I have discussed this matter are sufficiently confident in their
own abilities not to discourage one's documentation of this unique and
lovely event.

Subject: [Leica] Cameras in the delivery room

There was an interesting piece on the Early Show on CBS yesterday a.m. about
doctors and hospitals banning cameras in delivery rooms. Apparently, video
tapes are being used in malpractice litigation to show professional errors,
and the doctors obviously don't like that. The plaintiff attorney points
out that a video tape can, and has, exonerated the doctor.
