I have owned three R8's:

#2413xxx	1997 - which I sold to a fellow Lugger and who has been useing it
since without trouble.
#2421xxx	1999
#2480xxx	2000

I sold the #2421 and still have the #2480xxx (so I'm stupid and it takes me
while to know what I like).  I have had no problems with any of them, other
than user caused problems.  Why do I use the R8??  Because I like taking
pictures with it better than any camera I have owned, including the M's I
used to have.  For any camera that is the only justification needed.
