Umm... not to add to the uncertainty, but Canon and Nikon LTM lenses (85, 105) do not have their focus indicators at 12 o'clock when they are screwed onto a Canon.  The Russian
lenses are at 12 o'clock.  The same results occur with cheapo adapters on an M camera.  So it's not the adapters but the lenses.

BTW: having the aperture readout at 1:30 position is great with a Hexar and a 35mm Canon lens because you can read the aperture by simply looking through the viewfinder.
