As a number of wiser folks that I have noted.....the non-ASPH is a
wonderful - SMALL, light - lens. But if you are going to shoot wide open a
lot, the ASPH is definitely the lens to get. If you're not, definitely go
with the pre-ASPH, for the size difference if for no other reason.
