In his series 'Quadrants', I read that he used the Dual range Summicron at 
minimum focus and printed to that life (same) size, around 20x16? Of course 
that wouldn't prevent him using a Nikon FM later or even a Diana.

An independent repair guy here in Modena told me that when Gibson was
swinging through Italy some years back he had a problem with a camera which
this guy fixed for him - Nikon FM2. In the leica catalogue they have Gibson
recommending the noctilux, saying he travelled the world with a fifty -
just happened to be a Nikkor! Confused? You will be...
