All posts are harmless! But I think my words are still true, that :) 
and ;)  don't always overcome the written word.

In a similar way, I can say "F--- you!" with one tone of voice, and 
it's taken as an insult; I could say it with humorous tone and with a 
smile on my face and the recipient will laugh. Unfortunately, tone of 
voice isn't something that comes across via text.
