I see a couple of advantages: - - possibility of control at the film development stage - - B&W film is archival, color film is not I prefer to start with a properly exposed and developed B&W negative when I want a B&W print. This was true when I used a wet darkroom for printing and remains true in the scanning/Adobe/inkjet environment.
