Indeed the M3 can be modified to have M4-type rapid loading, including the frame
counter auto reset to -2. This is a job I've had done by DAG and the price is in the
neighbourhood of $200. I believe other independent repair people can do it if they
have the parts. It's a nice feature and, especially given the ludicrous (IMHO) prices
people are paying for that Leitz rapid load conversion kit these days,  I have been
happy with mine in all ways.
