They're great as ash trays, all the dust collects in the centre... Rather like a crucible when you clean them perhaps?

Jem,
I paid about $1050 for mine and the ASPH was going for quite a bit more at
the time.   I'm happy with the fourth generation Summicron.   Besides, who
wants a lens with funny looking elements:-)
