Point to Ponder:
IS the screwmount out dated? Not by a long shot, and not for what it is. It
is simply a very good and accurate way to fasten a lens to the camera, and
the difference in time it takes me to unscrew an LTM lens and re-attach
another compared with fumbling for the index spot on an SLR- even my SL, is
negligible!
IT is highly accurate, you can't accidentally hit the release tab, and have
it fall out, and it is certainly more sturdy that smoe of these plastic high
tech mounts out there today.
If there is a resurgence of the screwmount, great! If you don't have to
contend with electrical contacts, motors and gears in your lens, then the
screw mount is the most logical, and simple solution to a no brainer!
