Hi Denis,

     And welcome aboard!  All the Leica screw mounts are great, the IIIc has
the stronger body than earlier ones.  If you need flash sync, look at a IIIf.
An Elmar 50/3.5 would be the most compact.  I've had a Summar 50/2 and it's 
a good lens though soft at f/2, very sharp by about f/4.5.  There's lots of
choices, including the new Voigtlander lenses.  Here's two good links:

     About the meter, if you liked the Weston, it's still a useful meter
for outside.
