In marketing jargon there is a concept called "negative price elasticity" is 
which the desirability of a product increases, rather than decreases, as the 
price goes up. It is a tactic used in cosmetics pricing, the art world, and, 
sadly, in Leica camera marketing.
Eventually Leicas will get priced out of reason, the market will collapse as 
with Dutch tulips or NASDAQ stocks, and the cameras will again be within the 
expense range of normal folks. Hold your breath.
