Any R4 with s/n above 1,600,000 should be fine, as well as many below this s/n that were repaired. An R4 that has been used much and is still functioning should be OK. The R4s and R4sP never had problems like the R4 did, and with the R4sP new weather proofing and idiot-proofed switches were introduced that were used in subsequent R-models up to the R7.
